Orchestra Participation Fee

Applies to all orchestra students. The participation fee covers the cost of uniform shirts, MakeMusic subscription, classroom equipment and supplies, clinicians, judges, festival entrance fees, recruitment, awards, transportation, and other items used to directly enhance student experience in the orchestra program.

Supplies

Students are expected to purchase the required method book and supplies listed on the Supplies page.

Instrument Rental

Rates determined by the musical instrument dealer

Keller ISD School-Owned Instrument Maintenance Fee

This fee only applies to students who are renting a school-owned instrument.

• $150, non-refundable

• $50, non-refundable, for students who receive free/reduced lunch

• Due: before instrument is released to student

Keller ISD Private Lessons

Optional, but strongly encouraged for all students.

• $24 per lesson, paid directly to lesson instructor

Off-Site Studio Private Lessons

Optional, rates determined by the instructor.

All-Region Orchestra Fees

Applicable only for intermediate/advanced middle and high school students only who are preparing for the audition. This does not apply to beginning students.

Workshop Fee

• $25, non-refundable

Keller ISD Solo and Ensemble Festival

Entry fees for this festival are included in the Orchestra Participation Fee.

• $40, optional, paid directly to accompanist

Field Trips and End-of-Year Activities

TBD, events are still being planned. You will be notified of details well in advance of the event.

No student will be denied participation in orchestra because of an inability to pay fees. A family experiencing financial hardship should contact the director to make appropriate arrangements for the student to participate (i.e creating a payment plan, sharing costs for supplies, or reducing/waiving fees). 

If parents do not communicate with the director regarding their financial situation, any required fees remaining unpaid by the fee deadline will be placed as a fine on the student's Keller ISD account.
