All orchestra students are highly encouraged to enroll in private lessons with a professional instrument specialist. Private lessons offer a unique experience that enhances and extends the learning provided in the classroom. This individual interaction generally improves the performance level of the student and has a positive effect on the ensemble in which the student participates. Students interested in excelling in the All-Region/All-State process will benefit tremendously from lessons.
Private lessons take place once a week at an arranged time for 20-25 minutes during the orchestra rehearsal period or before/after school. The cost is $24 per lesson. Fees are paid directly to the instructor.
Each instructor will have policies and guidelines that they will cover at the student’s first lesson.
Some of the instructors on our roster teach from their personal studios on evenings and weekends. Off-site studio lessons are not part of the Keller ISD Fine Arts Private Lesson Program. It is the responsibility of the parent/student to initiate contact with the instructor and arrange to be enrolled in their studio. Lesson rates and availability are determined by the teacher.
